Mr. Lettiere's presentation will highlight a one-day event entitled "Performance Based Infrastructure" to be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at Oldcastle Precast located at 1900 Pennsylvania Avenue in Croydon. Admission is free and state, county, municipal and public works officials as well as engineering and contracting personnel and students of these disciplines are encouraged to attend.
George Hand, Jr., Regional General Manager and Allen Reed, Plant Manager, will be hosting the event. Oldcastle's Croydon plant has produced concrete pipe for highway and other applications for over 50 years and was the recipient of a substantial capital improvement plan by Oldcastle in 2006, when a $3.5 million state-of-the-art plant was assembled. Mr. Lettiere has more than 30 years of experience in infrastructure construction and will lend his insight on the current public works landscape in the Northeast and across the country.
The program will include a plant tour, 3-Edge Bearing Test, instruction on "Performance Based Infrastructure" and a video inspection of reinforced concrete pipe and high-density polyethylene pipe. U.S. Municipal Supply of Huntingdon, PA and CUES of Orlando, FL will provide the laser/video equipment and expertise for this demonstration.
The day's activities will provide a demonstration of current pipe inspection technologies with valuable information on proper use of the equipment, analyzing results and understanding current specifications.
