Precast concrete modular construction may have an image associated with prisons and barracks, but it is also increasingly being used in a more refined setting, to create quick and convenient dormitories and classrooms for colleges and universities.

 

Student Housing

Oldcastle offers five sided-  steel reinforced precast concrete dormitories and classrooms that are load bearing  modules and are cast without a floor slab. The modules are cast with conduit for all electrical and technical wiring and openings larger than 10 inches are cast in. The exterior walls of the modules are cast with 2” of rigid insulation, and 3” exterior wythe with a standard form liner finish unless otherwise specified.

   Classroom Facilities

Oldcastle offers a 4-sided, monolithic, structural precast concrete building components for the construction of educational facilities. This building system is an equal, but alternative solution to conventional construction. Oldcastle's precast concrete building components (modules) provide a quality, economical and durable building solution that is environmentally friendly, highly efficient and fast-tracks your construction schedule. Oldcastle also offers precast wall panel and hollow core plank construction.
